Visiting Assistant Professor, Cognitive Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applicants for a one-year visiting assistant position in Cognitive Psychology to begin Fall 2017, with the possibility of contract renewal. The teaching load for the academic year is 5 courses. We seek a motivated teacher to teach Introduction to Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and an advanced undergraduate research methods course in cognitive psychology. Area of specialization is open, but we especially welcome applicants with expertise in attention, cognitive neuroscience, memory or language. We also encourage applications from individuals who are sensitive to the issues of ethnic diversity in their teaching and can serve as role models for students from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Completed Ph.D. preferred but strong ABD candidates will be considered.

Founded as Hobart College for men and William Smith College for women, Hobart and William Smith Colleges today are a highly selective residential liberal arts institution with a single administration, faculty and curriculum but separate dean’s offices, student governments, athletic programs and traditions.
