Assistant Professor - Tenure Track
Department of Economics

Hobart and William Smith Colleges invite applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level anticipated for fall 2012. Ph.D. preferred, ABD considered. The position requires a specialization in microeconomics, with an emphasis in demographics or issues of poverty and welfare, and a willingness to teach undergraduate-level statistics or econometrics. Teaching responsibilities for five courses per year would typically be two sections of intermediate microeconomics; one section of principles of economic or statistics; and one or two elective courses in demographics or poverty and welfare. One of the five courses could also be in the Colleges’ interdisciplinary programs or general education areas.

Applications must be received by December 1, 2011 to be guaranteed full consideration but will be accepted until the position is filled. Interviews will be conducted at the Allied Social Science Associations meetings in Chicago, January 6-8, 2012.
