Instructor or Assistant Professor - Two Year Appointment

Department of Music
The Department of Music at Hobart and William SmithColleges invites applications for a two-year temporary position in music theory at the rank of instructor or assistant professor, beginning Fall 2008.

The position has a possibility for renewal. The Department seeks a music theorist to teach second year-theory/ear training courses, with a preferred secondary area in music technology.  Candidates with other sub-fields such as music education or wind ensemble direction will also be considered. 

Application Instructions
Candidates will be preferred who have completed or are nearing completion of the doctoral degree and who have experience teaching at the undergraduate level.  Review of files will begin May 15 and will continue until the position is filled.
