Annual and Parents Fund Gift Officer
 Division of Institutional Advancement
SUMMARY:

The Gift Officer's primary responsibility is the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of leadership level annual gifts. Reporting to the Director of Development, this is a front-line fundraising position that requires extensive travel. The successful candidate may live in metro New York City or the Boston region and work remotely.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a prospect portfolio of 250 alumni, alumnae, and parent leadership (Emerson Society) prospects.
  • Develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for assigned prospects.
  • Conduct 175 personal visits annually.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Annual and Parent Appeals to understand the mass market solicitation strategy and calendar for Emerson Society prospects.
  • Work with the Director of Parent Relations and Stewardship to develop a stewardship plan for Emerson Society level donors.
  • Identify, solicit, and secure five new Annual Fund Scholarships annually.
  • Actively engage in evaluating and qualifying prospects for leadership gift solicitation.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Giving team when necessary.
  • Maintain a 90% giving participation rate among assigned prospects.
  • Personally qualify new parent prospects rated $25K and above on an on-going basis.
  • Attend regional events as necessary.
  • Assumes other duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree and three years of fundraising experience is required. The employee must have a successful track record of personal solicitation at the leadership level. An ability to work independently and an extremely high level of personal motivation are required. The successful candidate should possess excellent oral and listening communications skills, and have the capacity to communicate persuasively in writing.

OTHER INFORMATION:

This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible administrative position. Normal campus office hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the academic year with a possible shortened workweek during the scheduled summer hours. Some evening and weekend work will be required. This position description is not all-inclusive, as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned.
