

SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Instructional and Research Technology Leader, this hands-on position plays a key role in collaborating with faculty and staff to promote the appropriate selection and application of current and emerging instructional technologies in the delivery of the Colleges’ educational programs. The Instructional and Research Technology team also works with students to engage them in the integration of technology in learning and scholarship.
Beginning Fall 2008, the Instructional and Research Technology team will transition to an innovative Learning Commons project currently under construction in the Library. A collaborative venture between the Library, Instructional and Research Technology and Operations and Technical Support teams in IT Services, as well as the Center for Teaching and Learning, this newly designed space will feature collaborative programming to enhance integration of learning, research and information technology services. The successful candidate will bring ability to transform teaching with technology and vision to deliver effectively integrated services to faculty, staff and students.QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or related field; Must have at least 2 years of experience, including teaching or training, preferably in higher education; Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks; Advanced computer proficiency with ability to learn quickly and continuously as required by technical challenges of the role; Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of constituencies in a diverse community; Ability to be a collaborative team player and work independently with minimal supervision; Knowledge and experience with Windows and Macintosh operating systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or related field; Superior interpersonal skills with an overall focus on exceptional service delivery; Thorough understandings of curriculum development, learning theories, assessment, copyright and plagiarism; Strong problem solving skills; Demonstrated success in program creation, implementation and assessment; Excellent motivation and organizational skills; Demonstrated ability to bring creativity, enthusiasm and vision to the role
OTHER INFORMATION:
This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible administrative (exempt) position. Some on-call hours required. Some weekend and evening hours may be necessary. This position description is not all-inclusive as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned.
