Oracle Database Administrator & PeopleSoft Systems Administrator

SUMMARY:

As a member of the Network and Systems Infrastructure Team, this person works with team members to ensure that the Colleges’ systems are resilient, available, and secure. His/her primary responsibility is to help manage the Colleges’ PeopleSoft and Oracle Database installation along with other core systems. In addition to managing systems and applications, this person assists with developing policies, practices, and service level agreements for the various systems that the team manages.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage PeopleSoft instances in test and production environments. PeopleSoft instances include Campus Solutions and Human Resources, Financials, Customer Relationship Management, Portal, and Enterprise Performance Management application suites.
  • Perform administration duties on Oracle databases including installation, configuration, upgrade, optimization, and documentation of the Colleges’ Oracle database environment
  • Perform Oracle Application Server administration for the Colleges’ PeopleSoft infrastructure
  • Perform Oracle Business Intelligence administration for the Colleges’ PeopleSoft infrastructure
  • Perform Ascential Datastage administration for the Colleges’ PeopleSoft infrastructure
  • Develop, coordinate, and publish standards relating to the Colleges’ database and web infrastructure.
  • Help maintain test environment to assess configuration changes to network, server, desktops, and applications
  • Assist in the evaluation and purchase of products and service that improve information technology delivery to the campus
  • Assist in administering other core systems such as Microsoft SQL, IIS, Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint, etc.
  • Actively update change management documentation and provides management reports
  • Evaluate and recommend system enhancements to improve operational efficiencies
  • Engage in Windows server installation, maintenance and upgrades.
  • Provides Tier II and Tier III support to customers and team members
  • Participate in disaster recovery and high-availability planning for servers and systems
  • Engage in all aspects of the team and department activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hands-on experience with multiple PeopleSoft implementations (version 8 or higher) and a thorough knowledge of Change Assistant and PeopleTools.
  • At least 5 years of experience administering network and system services with a focus on PeopleSoft and Oracle database system administration, web infrastructure management, and application support and maintenance
  • Demonstrate project management fundamentals, system documentation, and a commitment to change management processes and procedures
  • High degree of self-initiative and commitment to deliver exceptional IT service in a collaborative, team environment
  • Knowledge of the following technologies: Oracle 10g, PeopleSoft CSHR, CRM, Finance, Portal, and EPM application suites, Oracle Application Server, SQL Server 2005, IIS 6.0, Windows Server 2003, and Windows security
  • Undergraduate degree in a technology-related field; certification in any of the above areas is a plus

OTHER INFORMATION:

This position is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible administrative position. On-call hours are required for maintenance and troubleshooting. This position description is not all-inclusive, as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned.
