Hobart and William Smith Colleges are very excited for the return of our fun-filled academically based Kinder Camp. The camp is geared to campers entering grades 1 and 2. Campers will have the opportunity to choose different programs throughout the summer and will be provided with fun, hands-on experiences to expand and enhance the inner self.
June 25 – June 29
Artastic Art Week
We are going green this week at camp as all our art projects aim to reduce, reuse and recycle! We will turn soda bottles into stained glass, make soda fish, and much more. Once again we welcome Turbo T's the T-shirt design man. Also we will be creating a large art piece to give back to our community. This week finishes out at the Corning Museum of Glass.
July 2 – July 6
Weed 'Em and Reap Week
It's time to get down and dirty at Kinder Camp! Dress comfortable this week because we will be playing in the dirt as we create and tend our own flower garden, make terrariums and flying wooden mobiles. We will talk about farms and animals and finish our week at Long Acre Farms in Macedon.
July 9 – July 13
Shark Attack Week
Get ready for some GREAT WHITE FUN!! We will learn the truth about these "fierce" predators and play some wet and wild water games, make shark tooth necklaces with real shark teeth and see a tooth from one of the oldest known sharks: the megalodon. We finish out the week at Roseland Waterpark.
July 16 – July 20
Teddy Bear Picnic
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear turn around...Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear touch the ground...It's Teddy Bear Week at Kinder Camp!! We will learn the origin of these popular toys as we make edible teddy bears, sew our own and even invite our favorite bears to a Teddy Bear Picnic. Our trip takes us to Build-a-Bear Workshop where every kinder camper will get their own new addition.
July 23 – July 27
Welcome to the Jungle
It's a Jungle out there at Kinder Camp this week, so get your little monkeys ready for some fun! It's a week of wild animal fun as we create our very own jungle and enjoy a special visit from some real live jungle beasts. We will finish this week out with a trip to the Rochester Zoo.
July 30 – August 3
Kinder Camps Got Talent
We are setting the stage for our Gala celebration. Bring your dancing shoes or your singing voice. Can you play an instrument or tell jokes? Would you like to help with costumes? Or would you rather help with sound and stage set up? We want you for our show! Performance will take place prior to our Gala graduation ceremony on August 5.
