All students who are NOT vacating the colleges by May 15th at noon (when residences close) MUST contact Residential Education to be approved for a temporary extended stay. You can apply at MyResEd.
What does approval for a temporary extended stay mean?
If you are approved for a temporary extended stay, you are allowed to remain on campus in your current school year residence through the date approved by Residential Education. The last day for temporary extended stays is May 20th. At which time you must be fully vacated by noon on the 20th.
*Please note: NO temporary extended stays are approved for students living in Jackson, Potter, Rees, Hirshson, and 593 S. Main due to parent housing for Commencement!
When must temporary extended stay students leave campus?
Temporary extended stay students are only allowed to stay on campus until May 20th! You must vacate the colleges completely by noon on May 20th, unless you have been approved to start your summer housing assignment on the 20th.
If I am approved for a temporary extended stay, where have I been given permission to stay?
As a temporary extended stay, please understand you have been given permission to stay in your assigned room and only your assigned room. Permission has not been granted for you to leave items in common room areas. Common room areas are any areas outside of your assigned room. Such examples include, but not limited to, hallways, kitchens, refrigerators, bathrooms, porches, and living rooms. Please secure all of your items in your assigned room. We are not responsible for items left in the common room areas during the temporary extended stay period.

How much does summer housing cost?
The cost for summer housing is $78.00 per week. Your student account will be charged directly if you are a self-pay. If your housing is paid by a department, then the department will be charged directly.
How do I know if I am approved for summer housing?
You will receive an email stating your summer housing move in and move out date, either on or after May 1st, that will let you know if you are approved for summer housing.
Where do I pick up my keys for summer housing?
If you have been approved for summer housing, you must pick up your summer housing key on the day you have been approved to move into your housing assignment. You or your department will begin being charged for summer housing on the day you pick up your keys. Keys can be picked up at the Conferences and Events Office, Harris House, 678 S. Main Street, from 9AM till 5PM, Monday through Friday, to sign a rental agreement and key policy. After office hours, or on the weekend, you must sign the rental agreement and pick up your key at Campus Safety. You will not receive your keys or be able to move into your summer housing until the rental agreement and key policy have been signed.
Where do I drop off my school year keys?
School year keys must be dropped off at the drop box outside of the Residential Education Office.
When do I move into my summer housing?
Is there someone available to help me move my belongings from my school year residence to my summer housing?
No. Because Conferences and Events is busy prepping for Commencement and Summer Conferences, we do not have vehicles or staff available for transportation of student belongings.
Do I have a meal plan?
No. Summer housing students will not be provided with a meal plan. Every summer housing residence has a kitchen; therefore students will be responsible for cooking their own meals.
Can I store my belongings on campus if I am leaving the colleges after my last exam and coming back for summer housing?
No. Storage is NOT provided on campus for anyone leaving the colleges. There are no exceptions. We will not be responsible for any items left.
Where can I do my laundry?
If there is not a laundry facility located in your summer housing assignment, you may use the laundry facilities in either Stucco or Rees. The keys to these facilities are to be picked up and dropped back off at Campus Safety.
