Convocation 2008

Speaker: Eric Liu

Advancing the power of idea-driven activism, public intellectual and author Eric Liu delivered the Convocation Address at Hobart and William Smith Colleges at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4 on Stern Lawn. Hundreds of students, faculty, staff and Geneva community members gathered on the Lawn for the address by the public intellectual and author.

During his address, Liu encouraged the audience to redefine politics, patriotism and public service in moral terms, encouraging the Classes of 2012 especially to consider the impact their decisions have on those around them and the world at large.
