Virtual Classroom Toolkit:

Conclusions:

  • Virtually collaborating with another NY6 college for a language course was successful.
  • Ample time for logistical intra campus coordination is required. This included navigating diverse technology needs, coordinating face to face opportunities and virtual office hours, and working through varying course schedules.
  • HWS students listed Twitter as a major strength in this course. Students found it helpful to see where other students were struggling and communicate with each other through writing.
  • More research is needed to evaluate a sense of social presence in a virtual classroom interaction.
