Zitouns Make Charitable Giving Priority

Posted on Wednesday, April 02, 2014

Jordan Zitoun '10 and Erin (Houck) Zitoun '11 were recently featured in a video on the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) for their commitment to giving to others regardless of their own financial difficulties. The video notes Jordan began a real estate business shortly after graduating from college and struggled to get that business off the ground. While he had given money to his church since high school, doing so while starting a business was difficulty financially. The video explains how he maintained his commitment to tithing and to working hard to build his career.

"I knew that with enough perseverance, prayer and hard work, that eventually good things would happen," he says.

He landed a significant client and business began to grow as he married Erin, who has since also become a real estate agent. In Jordan's second year in business, he reached $6 million in sales, with expectations to exceed that in the third.

Erin says the couple plans to continue to make giving to their church and to CBN a priority.

"We saw that there was a need around the world," she says.

Jordan earned a B.A. in economics from Hobart College and minored in international relations. As a student, he was a member of the Statesmen hockey team, the Christian Fellowship, Hobart Helpers, and the Wounded Warrior Project. He was inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon National Honor Society for economics.

Erin earned her B.A. in studio art with a minor in education from William Smith College. She was a member of the Herons rowing and swimming teams and the Koshare Dance Guild as a student.

The full video of the couple's story is available online.
