Stuart F. Pierson '65, a defense litigator, has joined Morvillo LLP, a boutique White Collar litigation law firm with offices in New York and Washington, D.C., according to a press release published on Digital Journal. Pierson serves as counsel in the Washington, D.C. office.

"Pierson, who graduated from Hobart College and Duke University School of Law, began his legal career with the Justice Department and then served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. Since entering private practice, he has focused on White Collar and government investigations, civil litigation and media law. He has been recognized in the field of White Collar criminal defense by The Best Lawyers in America."

The firm's co-founder, Richard J. Morvillo, is quoted "Stu adds further depth and experience to our growing White Collar practice and his arrival is another step in our continuing efforts to build a premier White Collar boutique comprised of exceptional trial lawyers. He was the head of litigation of the firm I first joined upon leaving the SEC, and I know first-hand that he is an extraordinarily talented trial lawyer who will fit well in our culture."

The release also includes comment from co-founder E. Scott Morvillo, "Stu is a great addition. He is yet another talented trial lawyer who has years of experience handling complex civil, criminal and enforcement matters and bolsters our presence in Washington, DC."

Pierson earned a B.A. in history and philosophy from Hobart College. As a student, he was a member of the football and wrestling teams, served as class president and was a member of the Interfraternity Council. He was inducted into the Druids, Orange Key and Chimera.
