With an emphasis on global citizenship and gaining worlds of experience, it should come as no surprise that by the time Hobart and William Smith students cross the steps of Coxe Hall at graduation, they have had some kind of international learning experience.
On Wednesday, Feb. 6, the Center for Global Education (CGE) invites students to learn about the many opportunities abroad during a study abroad information session at 7:30 p.m. in the Vandervort Room. All students considering study abroad next spring should plan on attending.
Whether a student hopes to study at a university in South Africa, intern in London, or explore the rich culture of Vietnam, there are a wide variety of experiences open to all interested in learning and living abroad. Off campus study is strongly encouraged at the colleges, and all class years are welcome at the session.
The study abroad program may hold particular appeal to sophomores and juniors; however, first-year students are encouraged to attend to receive an early and comprehensive overview of all the abroad programs the Colleges have to offer. Several of the spring programs also welcome applications from first-year students.
Programs that CGE is currently recruiting for include: Aix, France; Amman, Jordan; Bath, England; Berlin, Germany; Bremen, Germany; Budapest, Hungary; Beijing, China; Costa, Rica; Copenhagen, Denmark; Ecuador & Peru; Galway, Ireland; Hong Kong; Korea; Landau, Germany; Leipzig, Germany; London, England; Maastricht, Netherlands; Nanjing, China; Norwich, England; Perth, Australia; Prague, Czech Republic; Quebec, Canada; Rennes, France; Rome, Italy; Russia; Taiwan; Tubingen, Germany; and Wales.
There will be separate information session for students hoping to study abroad in Costa Rica on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m., and Bath, England, on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 5:45 p.m. Both sessions will be held in Trinity 305.
