Corporate Law, Lobbying Careers

J.B. Robinson '96, tax attorney for TE Connectivity (formerly Tyco Electronics), will discuss corporate law and lobbying careers as part of the Professionals in Residence series hosted by the Salisbury Center for Career Services and Professional Development. His talk will take place on Friday, Oct. 26, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in Trinity Room 109. He will hold one-on-one coaching sessions with students that day from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 to 3 p.m. Interested must contact career services to reserve an appointment.
Robinson currently works as a tax attorney focusing in the areas of executive compensation and benefits. He started his career with Deloitte & Touche LLP, in Boston, Mass., where he later transferred to the firm's Philadelphia, Pa., office.
In 2007, Robinson joined Tyco Electronics as a senior director of tax and legislative affairs. In his current role, Robinson continues to focus on compensation and benefits tax issues.
He graduated from Hobart with a B.A. in political science. While a student, Robinson was involved in student government, was a tour guide for the admissions office, a member of the Hobart rowing team, and was inducted into the Druid Society. Following graduation, Robinson earned a J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law and an LL.M. in taxation from Boston University School of Law. An active alumnus, Robinson has served on the Hobart College Alumni Council since 2004, currently serving as its vice president.
