The Black River String Quartet, of Elyria, Ohio, will return to Geneva, N.Y., for their Third Annual Summer Concert on Sunday, Aug. 12 at 3 p.m. in the Geneva Room of the Warren Hunting Smith Library at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Geneva native Andrea Belding, first violinist of the quartet, will perform in this free concert with violinist Janice Krueger, violist Megann Greenlees and cellist John Kukula. Belding is the daughter of David Belding, associate professor of mathematics and computer science at HWS.
Two works for string quartet will be featured on the program: Ludwig van Beethoven's "String Quartet in D Major, Op. 18, No. 3" and Bedrich Smetana's "String Quartet No, 1 in E Minor, (From My Life)."
The event is open to the public.
