Interested in the scientific component of cars from a young age, Alexander Abel '13 will spend his summer working for Federal-Mogul, global supplier of parts to NASA, NASCAR and Formula BMW.
"Rather than looking forward to just one thing, I am excited about the internship as a whole," explains Abel. "I know that this internship will provide me with important skills and experience handling a multitude of different kinds of testing machinery."
At the company's site in Exton, Pa., Abel will help to re-standardize some of their testing methods and assist with oversees' communications.
"Working for such a prestigious company, I want to make sure that I hold myself up to their level and do my best at all times so that I can help maintain their high standards," says Abel.
Abel, a biology and environmental studies double major, is the treasurer of the Sustainable Foods Club.
Founded in 1899, Federal-Mogul is an innovative and diversified $6.9 billion global supplier to manufacturers of automotive, light commercial, heavy-duty and off-highway vehicles, as well as in power generation, aerospace, marine, rail and industrial sectors.
