Annear and Tonkovich Join HWS

As the Colleges usher in another academic year, the Salisbury Center for Career Services and Professional Development welcomes two new members to their experienced staff. Stephanie Annear and Kathy Tonkovich join the center as assistant directors.
"I'm excited to welcome Kathy and Stephanie," says Brandi Ferrara, director of the Salisbury Center for Career Services and Professional Development. "Their experience and enthusiasm will make them valuable assets to our students and alums, as well as the Salisbury Center as a whole."
Annear will assist students in their search for jobs and internships. Her responsibilities include a vast array of careers including advertising and public relations, sales, marketing, media, journalism and publishing. Annear will also help students looking for opportunities in finance and banking, law and architecture firms, commercial real estate and insurance, consulting and sports management and marketing.
While earning her B.A. in psychology at Dartmouth, Annear traveled extensively, studying Spanish at the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla in Puebla, Mexico, and at the Proyecto Lingüístico Quetzalteco de Español in Xela, Guatemala. Prior to joining the Colleges, Annear worked as an expansion consultant for Jet Air Aircraft Charter and Sales. She gained experience as a cost-of-living surveyor at AIRINC and as a consultant at Marketing and Planning Systems. Annear has traveled extensively and has visited more than 55 countries and 30 states.
Tonkovich will work as a career counselor, assisting students with cover letters and revising resumes. She will also aid students in interview preparation for jobs in the profit sector. With a special attention to pre-law counseling, Tonkovich will help students obtain jobs and internships in research and human resources.
After earning a B.A. in anthropology from the State University of New York at Cortland, Tonkovich received an M.S. in counseling from the State University of New York at Brockport. Tonkovich has worked as a high school counselor, as well as an academic counselor at Corning Community College. She has spent time as a human resources manager and consultant for numerous companies. Prior to joining the Salisbury Center, Tonkovich served as assistant director the Career Center at St. John Fisher College and as an internship counselor at the University of California, San Diego.
