Becky Carr '86 has joined the marketing and business development firm of Marsden & Associates as a principal. Carr's 26-year career in the global business-to-business technology market spans sales, sales leadership and all marketing disciplines in Fortune 50 companies. She was most recently the vice president of global marketing at Verizon, responsible for brand, advertising, web, field marketing, go to market strategy, product launches, market and customer intelligences, sales enablement, advisory boards, events and sponsorships.

Carr helped transform the Verizon brand from a commodity to a solutions provider, increased customer loyalty and achieved double digit growth in key strategic services. She launched multiple global integrated advertising and marketing campaigns and revolutionized sales support focusing on just in time delivery through multiple vehicles and formats. Her web strategy, including a specific thought leadership site for C-level clients, realized triple digit percentage increases in participation rates.
Prior to joining Verizon, Carr spent 17 years at MCI where she began as a global account manager selling multi-million dollar technology solutions to Fortune 100 businesses. She moved into marketing in 1997 holding leadership positions from product to e-business development to field and market management. Her last two years at MCI she served as the vice president of field marketing.

Carr holds a bachelor of arts in French from William Smith College. She was a member of the Georgia 100 Mentor Exchange and a trustee for the Heritage Foundation.
