This summer, Erik Krahn '10 will spend five weeks interning at Studio Hamburg, a TV and film production company in Hamburg, Germany. Krahn will be involved with post production, editing and film production.
"I'm really excited for this opportunity to learn more about film production and to improve my foreign language skills," says Krahn, who studied abroad in Rome and took courses in film while there. At HWS, he has taken courses in film editing, video and studio art.
Studio Hamburg is Germany's leading production and service center for film and television. Founded in 1947 in the city of Hamburg, today the company is the corporate headquarters for a nationally-operating network and has produced award-winning feature films for the theatre as well as made-for-TV films and nature-film documentaries. The group's clientele includes public and private broadcasting networks as well as freelance film and television producers.
A double major in studio art and European studies, Krahn has taken extensive coursework in German while a student at HWS. He will have the opportunity to further expand his German language skills through his internship. On campus, Krahn has been a member of the soccer and cross country teams and is involved with the Media Club, Kink Advertising Club, and Intervarsity Christian Fellowship.
