Gary Dewitt Marshall in Rochester

Gary Dewitt Marshall '89 will read selections from his forthcoming book, "Cry Now Laugh L8ter" during, "Flowetic Rhythms: A different kind of FLOW" on Thursday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m.  The show will be at Gallery One Fine Arts, 36 W. Main St Rochester, N.Y.

Marshall graduated from Hobart College, where he received his bachelor's degree in sociology. He then attended the University of Albany where he was introduced to professional theatre. Since that time, he performed locally, nationally and internationally.

He has been featured in such films as: "The Hurricane," "Renaissance Man," "In and Out," "New Jersey Drive," "Love Walked In," "Still Water," and "Game Day."

On television, Marshall played Detective John Smollers in the ABC pilot, "Life on Mars." He has guest starred on "Without a Trace," "ER," "24," "The Guardian," "Gemini Man," "Unsolved Mysteries," "Angel Street," "Matt Waters" and "New York Undercover."

 He has also appeared in commercials for such products as: AT&T, Midas, Hallmark, McDonalds, Kay Jewelers, Remy Martin and Land Rover.

On Broadway, he originated the role of "Freedom Fighter" Michael Dube in the Tony nominated drama "The Song of Jacob Zulu."

While at Hobart, Marshall was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
