On May 20 and 21, Perkins delivered a two-day training workshop in Nashville, Tenn. for administrators, counselors and health educators working at 14 colleges and universities throughout Tennessee that are planning to launch social norms initiatives. This program was sponsored by the Coalition for Healthy and Safe Campus Communities and the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association. Perkins is a graduate of Purdue University, and he received his M.A., M. Div., M. Phil. and Ph.D. from Yale University. He is the author of dozens of journal articles about substance abuse prevention and has been honored with national awards for his work in preventing alcohol and drug abuse in colleges and universities.
