On Wednesday, Feb. 20, there will be a Medical School Admissions Overview session with Dr. Barry Jaffin ’77 at 4 p.m. in the Seneca Room.
Jaffin will provide an overview of the medical school admissions process. Dr. Jaffin evaluates medical school applications and interview candidates for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai,and he has an insider’s perspective on the medical school admission process.
Jaffin graduated from Hobart in 1977, majoring in biology. He earned his MD at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1981. After medical school he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Medical Center Hospital in Vermont (he is an avid skier and snowboarder), and then completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Boston University Medical Center.
An attending physician at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, he admits patients to Mount Sinai Hospital, performs endoscopic procedures, and helps to educate medical students, residents and gastroenterology fellows at Mount Sinai. With a partner he runs West Side Gastroenterology, which has been in operation in Manhattan for over fifteen years.
