On Thursday, October 18, there will be a workshop with Nick Teicht Workshop, sponsored by Pride Alliance, at 7 p.m. in Demarest 114.
As a licensced social worker and member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and the National Association of Social Workers, Teicht trains and educates groups about gender issues. Nick is the founder and president of Camp Aranu’tiq, the first ever summer camp for transgender children.
His workshop will help educate the HWS campus about what it means to be transgender, and how to be respectful allies to transgender peers. The workshop will be all inclusive, LGBT and allies, and it will raise awareness of trans issues.
