The 2013-2014 Annual Fund campaign has arrived at its midway point, with all signs pointing for yet another record-breaking year of support.
Thanks to the generosity of alumni, alumnae, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and current students, the Colleges are poised to begin the New Year with great momentum and invite members of the HWS community to help carry that tradition of giving into 2014.
"Making a gift is a public way of celebrating and endorsing the successes at HWS," says Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Jared Weeden '91. "It underscores that something exceptional is happening at the Colleges. HWS is a remarkable place. Right now, alums, parents and friends have the opportunity to continue this track as we welcome the beginning of 2014."
Weeden encourages making a gift to HWS as early as possible, noting that it's a great way to inspire other donors and prospective donors alike.
The easiest way to give is via the Colleges secure online giving form. To take advantage of charitable deductions on 2013 tax returns, donors should make a gift by Dec. 31, 2013.
Those who would like to avoid considerable taxes can transfer appreciated securities to the Colleges' Annual Fund. Click HERE for more information on that option, or call the office toll-free, (877)-HWS-GIFT.
"Imagine the impact on our alma maters if every one of us were to send a contribution to the Colleges this year - a gift of any size from every Hobart alumnus and William Smith alumna," Weeden says. "Imagine the message it would send to prospective students, to our fellow alums and to the broader HWS community. Not to mention, imagine the resources it would bring to the Colleges."
