The issues of privilege and oppression, diversity and social justice, in our public and private institutions, as well as in our personal lives, are issues of importance and will continue to be so into the 21st century. Each of us feels the impact of white privilege/racism, male privilege/sexism, classism, heterosexism/homophobia, religious oppression, anti-Semitism, and more. The Peer Education in Human Relations program (PEHR) works with students to explore our relationships to these issues, linking analysis to action using a peer-to-peer education model. This experiential program is one step in addressing privilege and oppression, allying work and empowerment.
