Greetings Hobart and William Smith Alumni and Alumnae Admissions Volunteers!

A new year is upon us, and there are a variety of exciting opportunities to help the Admissions Office shape the Classes of 2014. Please allow us to introduce ourselves; we are Ruth Teague, Adam Gimple, and Sharon Elder. Although we are the new AVN coordinators, some of you may know us already! We are looking forward to working with you over the coming year.

For those of you who are new, and as a reminder to those seasoned veterans, alumni, alumnae volunteers traditionally assist our office by participating in college fairs and by conducting off-campus interviews for prospective students. All of the information for the AVN is available on the HWS website. The link for the AVN web page is: http://www.hws.edu/alumni/volunteers/avn.aspx.

At this time we have posted a list of college fairs/nights on the AVN page. The link for all of the fairs/nights that we would request your assistance with is: http://www.hws.edu/alumni/volunteers/college_fairs.aspx.

If there are events in your area that you are willing to cover, please fill out the contact information, select the appropriate event, and click "submit". We will then send you the materials you will need for each event.

After you attend a college fair, we request that you visit the HWS website and fill out a comment form for each fair. For your reference, the link for the College Fair Evaluation Form is: http://campus.hws.edu/surveyor/survey.asp?s=01145008108202043225.

Aside from college fairs, we also need your help conducting interviews. For those who have already expressed a willingness to interview prospective students, please expect follow-up correspondence with further directions and helpful tips on how to lead a successful interview.
