THE FRAMEWORK

1. Small Talk
   • Weather
   • Trip to the interview
   • Red Sox? (of course, it is just an example!!)
2. College Search:
   • How's the search going
   • What are you looking for in a college?
   • Are you excited about college?
   • How did you hear about HWS?
3. Academics:
   • What is your school like?
   • What classes are you taking?
   • What is your favorite class?
   • What is your least favorite? Why?
   • How would your teachers describe you?
4. Life Outside of School:
   • What do you do for fun?
   • What book are you reading?
   • Do you have any hobbies?
   • Have you traveled lately? If so, where?
   • How would your friends describe you?
5. Closing:
   • Give them an overview of what you went over in the interview.
   • Is there anything else that I should know about you?
   • Tell them about next steps (application, deadlines, etc).

ALSO NOTE

Most important thing is to be in the moment. Don't worry about the next question because then you stop listening…

If you have really shy interviewees, just keep probing!
