Why did you choose Hobart and William Smith Colleges? The tight knit student body and close relationships with faculty.

How do you stay connected to the Colleges? Before my current employment, I was an Assistant Director for Admissions at HWS. This was a great experience that allowed me to give back to the Colleges and learn more about what makes it tick. I’ve stayed connected through my friends still working at HWS and through alumni events and donating.

What makes the Colleges special? I’ve always been impressed with how connected I felt to the HWS community. I can meet someone and find out they went to the Colleges and feel an immediate shared experience that I haven’t been able to pin down at most other places.

Why do you give back to HWS? HWS is an important part of my life and it helped develop me into the person I am today.

What are your goals as a Regional Network volunteer? I want to be a link between the Office of Admissions and the Rochester area, and help prospective students learn more about all the benefits of a liberal arts education.

What advice would you give to an incoming or current HWS student? Take advantage of all the school has to offer. Go abroad, get involved in career services early, and become a voice in your class.
