Performing Arts Center

With great pleasure, I announce the long-anticipated groundbreaking for the new Performing Arts Center that will be built on Pulteney Street across from the Scandling Campus Center.

Working closely with architects from Gund Partnership in Cambridge, Mass., and joined by the construction management firm of Welliver, based in Montour Falls, N.Y., final design is underway for this important academic facility. Plans include space for academic-specific programming in dance, music (vocal and instrumental) and theatre along with a film screening room for the media and society.

None of this would be possible without the support of Hobart and William Smith alumni, alumnae, parents and friends who have raised more for this single project than any other in the history of the Colleges. Due to the generosity of these donors, our talented students and faculty will have new facilities that will enrich the individual disciplines in the performing arts while providing a cohesive space for creative interaction among them, as well.

Thank you for helping to make this transformative project a reality.
