The Medal of Excellence is the Hobart College Alumni Association’s highest honor. It is awarded to an alumnus who, by reason of outstanding accomplishments in his particular business, profession or community service, has brought honor and distinction to his alma mater.
The Alumna Achievement Award is the William Smith College Alumnae Association's highest honor. It is awarded to an alumna who, by reason of outstanding accomplishments in her particular business, profession or community service, has brought honor and distinction to her alma mater.
Each year during commencement exercises, the Colleges award honorary degrees to individuals who, by virtue of their dedication to the Colleges or through actions that mimic the values set forth by our founders, are true members of the Hobart and William Smith community.
The Alumni Association of Hobart College and the Alumnae Association of William Smith College jointly award the Distinguished Faculty Award (DFA). The award was established to emphasize the importance that graduates of these Colleges place on the contributions of outstanding faculty members of the past.
