Getting There

Parking and Transfers:
We do not recommend driving to the Cinque Terre due to the scarcity of parking spots in the vicinity of Corniglia. If you do drive and manage to find a spot expect to pay at least EUR100 for the week.

By Train:
For timetables to Corniglia see the Trenitalia website. Corniglia station is located between La Spezia and Genoa. Trains on the ‘main lines’ as well as numerous regional trains do not stop there. From La Spezia, a regional train on the La Spezia to Sestri Levante line takes around 15 minutes to reach Corniglia (approx. one train every hour during the day).

By Air:
The closest international airports are Genoa, Pisa or Milan. From the airport Milan Malpensa (MXP) there are express trains every 30 minutes (taking 45 minutes) to Milano Centrale, or alternatively a shuttle bus service also operates direct to the central rail station. From here you follow the train instructions above. Genoa Airport – take the Volabus service (hourly departures) to Stazione Principe F.S. – journey time approximately 20 minutes. From there take a train to Corniglia (journey time 1.5-2.5 hours depending on train type) Pisa Airport – take a train to the main train station in Pisa, then change to a local train to La Spezia, and another change to Corniglia. Journey will take around 1 ½ hrs.

Dietary Restrictions

Provided we are advised in advance of your departure we are able to cater to vegetarian diets and can assist with medically recommended diets (allergies and intolerances) for the group meals. Please note that options may be limited in some locations or alternatives may be more expensive or unavailable. We are unable to guarantee a peanut-free or allergen-free trip, and therefore, we strongly encourage that travelers with life-threatening or severe allergies take all necessary medical precautions to prepare for the possibility of exposure. Passengers must travel with all necessary medications for food allergies and be capable of self-administering these medications.

Note on daily walking tours

While the daily treks will be led by the tour leaders, the routes themselves will present new adventure for everyone. The hope is that all participants will be involved and be prepared to use problem solving skills, be adaptable and have a keen eye. We’ll be map reading, referring to route notes and relying on our collective good sense of direction (or are willing to work on improving this!). Sometimes route finding, losing our way, finding it again and asking the locals for help will be part of the adventure. There is a certain level of the unknown that comes with walking treks, however with a methodical approach potential problems will be averted.

Pre-trip Instructions

After securing your spot on the trip, you’ll receive a variety of information that will include pre-departure information, travel specifics and forms, route maps and updates and links to interesting info about the region.
