A day visit allows you to more fully experience life on the HWS campus. Attend a class, eat lunch with a student and meet with a professor or a coach, and you'll experience some of the intangibles of life on our campus. Day visits are designed to meet your individual needs and interests and can include a Preview Visit as well as an interview.
Day visits are available to high school seniors Monday through Friday from early September through late November and from early February through late April. Typically a day visit is either scheduled for a morning or an afternoon and includes lunch.
Day visits are arranged on a first-come, first-served basis, and we request that you call the Office of Admissions at 315-781-3622 or 800-852-2256 at least two weeks in advance of your desired visit date.
An overnight visit provides the most in-depth college visit experience. In addition to the day visit activities, you'll spend a night in a residence hall; enjoy quality time with a current student and his/her roommates and friends; possibly attend a sporting event, concert, lecture or student activity meeting; and take in the full breadth of campus life.
Overnight visits (Sunday through Thursday evenings only) are arranged for seniors from early September through late November and from early February through late April. During the month of April, overnight visits are only offered on Sunday evenings.
Overnight visits can include a Preview HWS Visit, an interview, a class, a meeting with a professor and/or coach, as well as social events in the evening and an overnight stay with a student host. Meal passes are provided for two meals, and students typically arrive on campus at 5 p.m. the day of the overnight.
You should bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, towel and seasonal clothing. Your host may have some studying to do, so bring a book, magazines or homework of your own.
