Italian Placement Test Information

In order to place you appropriately in Italian next semester, we will need you to take the placement test. It is a very short test and should not take more than 15 minutes or so to complete. Here are the instructions:

  1. Go to http://webcape.org/nwcregister.php?acct=hws
  2. Select Hobart and William Smith Colleges and click on Go
  3. Enter HWSFL as a password
  4. Choose Italian for language and hit begin
  5. Enter your name and ID number, fill out the language questionnaire, and begin the test

To ensure accurate results on the test, please do not use dictionaries, the internet, or any other resources. Please take the test only once.

Once you have received your score, please use the chart below to find the appropriate course to enroll in:

Course

0-150

= 101

151-300

= 102

300-400

= 201

400 and up

= 202


Once you have received your score, please forward the results to the Italian professor, Sebastiano Lucci (lucci@hws.edu), who will place you in the appropriate course.
