


In the past decade, 100 percent of HWS graduates who applied to medical school were accepted and have gone on to pursue medical, dental or veterinary degrees at many excellent schools including Tufts University, Duke University, University of Buffalo and the University of Vermont.
The first-rate health professions advising program at Hobart and William Smith guides interested students through career exploration and personal development opportunities while assisting with the development of a polished applications to health professions programs.
The advising program is more inclusive than at many other undergraduate institutions, focusing on both premed students and those interested in allied health fields, like nursing, physician’s assistant and physical therapy. The Salisbury Center for Career Services also monitors students’ progress through a program called Pathways and outlines steps students should take to build their experience and understanding of the desired field.

Hobart and William Smith also offer the Blackwell Medical Scholarship Program, a unique opportunity for qualified first-year students. Those who meet and maintain the standards of the program are guaranteed a seat in medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Medicine at Syracuse upon their graduation from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
