The Visual Resources Collection (VRC) of the Department of Art is located in historic Houghton House on the campus of Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York.
This collection provides faculty and students with tools for learning how to look and how to articulate the experience of looking in such diverse areas as painting, drawing, sculpture, architecture, printmaking, photography, material and performing arts.
The VRC holds more than 156,000 slides and 110,000 images covering the history of art from prehistory through the present. The basis of the collection is Western European and American art and architecture, network distribution across the campus by means of Artifact (vrcsrv.hws.edu) allows access to one of the finer undergraduate image collections in the United States.
The Visual Resources Collection may be accessed by on-campus users at vrcsrv.hws.edu.
