January 31, 2009
Dear Members of the Hobart and William Smith Colleges Community,
It is with great sadness that I write today to report the death of Warren “Kim” Kimber, a member of the Hobart Class of 2011. The cause of death is not yet known.
I have known Kim since he arrived at Hobart in 2007 and always found him to be an engaging and energetic member of our campus community. His loss will be greatly felt across campus.
As a community, I ask all of you to reach out to one another to offer comfort and support. Counselors from the Center for Counseling and Student Wellness, located at 91 St. Clair St., are available today from noon – 8 p.m. and tomorrow from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The Center for Counseling can be reached at (315) 781-3388. Counselors are also available 24 hours a day by calling Campus Safety at 315-781-3000. Additionally, the Hobart Dean’s Office, located in Smith Hall, will be open until 5 p.m. today.
Sincerely,
Mark D. Gearan
President
